So-called RFID tags have been enabling inexpensive and reliable data collection for several years. The contactless readable memories make automation processes considerably easier or improve traceability. However, a bare metal surface or another adhesive-friendly surface is not always available for attaching these intelligent labels.
CMC Klebetechnik offers adhesive solutions for such problematic applications. Manufacturers of RFID labels can equip their labels to suit the application with the help of specialized adhesives.

CMC Klebetechnik supplies suitable adhesive tapes for all these requirements, which have special properties in addition to the already excellent standard acrylic adhesive. The adhesive tapes can be cut to the width required by the customer in 1/10 mm increments. Long rolls are possible if required and depending on the material. Special designs are possible in many cases, as CMC itself is an adhesive tape coater. For example, a combination of an acrylate adhesive (towards the RFID tag's film carrier) and a polysiloxane adhesive (towards the adhesive-repellent side) is possible. Extremely strong, UV and weather-resistant adhesive tapes are also available, with material thicknesses of 0.2 - 2 mm to compensate for surface roughness. They can be used to reliably and permanently attach RFID transponders in the form of coins or other 3D shapes with housings.
