Among other things, CMC manufactures adhesive metal foils (Copper and Aluminum basecMC 91743 copper and CMC 90767 aluminum), which are equipped with conductive adhesive. The conductivity of the adhesive filled with silver-plated glass beads is very good (<1 ohm through the adhesive). The metal foils have very good shielding properties and can also be used for the electrical connection of shielding parts thanks to the electrically conductive adhesive. Other foil thicknesses can also be offered if required.
CMC 80782 is a very light, metallized fleece with electrically conductive adhesive The surface conductivity of the material is 0.08 ohm/square. The contact resistance is <1 Ohm and the shielding attenuation according to MIL 285 is on average 80dB from 100Mhz! (Shielding efficiency diagram).
CMC 80782 is used as an EMC shielding material (e.g. also as a shield in cables) or with a mask (CMC 481x; masking tape) for use as an EMC sealing strip on powder-coated metal cabinets (applied before powder coating, after baking [max. 230°C, ½ hour] the masking tape can be carefully removed again). The slightly narrower cover also protects the fabric strip from moisture on the sides of the paint).
Customized designs (e.g. copper plating only) are possible. All versions can be coated with electrically conductive adhesive. Various other versions (fabric or fleece, different metal coatings) are available on request (e.g. CMC 80829, particularly weather-resistant with conductive surface sealing; CMC 80874, suitable for bonding to EPDM rubber profiles).
The materials are available in rolls or sheets and can be used for shielding active components, but also for equipping test rooms, floor coverings and, for example, for shielding the connections of flexible printed circuit boards. Coatings of nickel, iron, steel or lead foils are also possible, as well as laminates with insulating foils and customized punched parts made from them.
CMC 91815tin-plated copper foil adhesive tape with conductive adhesive
For EMC applications, metal foils are often used to seal electromagnetic "holes" in order to comply with EMC directives. In order to achieve good corrosion resistance, the product CMC 91815 uses a tin-plated copper foil with a thickness of 35µm on both sides. It is coated with a highly conductive (<1Ohm), age-resistant acrylate adhesive.
The advantages of tinned copper adhesive tape are
- Excellent conductivity (adhesive and copper foil)
- Good corrosion protection due to the relatively thick tin coating
- Good solderability even after storage time (tin does not tarnish)
- No contact corrosion with other tinned parts (circuit board, wire ends)
- Non-toxic surface
- Abrasion-resistant tin plating when used as a sealing abutment
- Good adhesive strength on almost all substrates, permanent adhesive for long-term use even when exposed to weathering
- can also be produced coated on both sides
We only manufacture special designs on Request to.
