In the group of high-performance films, Kapton® from DuPont is definitely at the top. This high-quality polyimide film has been manufactured for over 40 years. Highest quality, flawlessness and best chemical, physical and thermal properties characterize the films. In contrast to less expensive polyimide films, Kapton has the highest temperature resistance, which is also confirmed by UL (E39505). This is because some polyimide films only have a classification for 130°C (class B).

Kapton adhesive tape from CMC Klebetechnik
The high temperature resistance, combined with high-performance adhesives for up to 350°C (short-term) make Kapton® adhesive tape interesting for high-temperature applications. The service life of a device can also be drastically increased by using Kapton® adhesive tapes. By being equipped with a high-quality, fully cross-linked polysiloxane adhesive, the adhesive tape can also withstand stresses caused by aggressive chemicals, weathering or high voltages, such as those present in large transformers and electric motors.
We use only high-quality solvent-based industrial adhesives for the adhesive coating of Kapton adhesive tapes. This gives you a polyimide adhesive tape that perfectly complements the positive properties of Kapton® film: easy application due to immediate bonding, dimensionally accurate dispensing, high performance of the adhesives with very good impregnant resistance. When used as masking tape (e.g. reflow soldering), Kapton adhesive tape from CMC can be subsequently removed without leaving any residue. Whether adhesive on one or both sides, whether only 25µm thick polyimide film or up to multiple laminates of 125µm thick Kapton film: We supply the right solution.
The adhesive tape is used in electronics applications, for lithium-ion batteries (e.g. pouch cells for electromobility, OBC, DC/DC, BMS), as a solder cover in electronics manufacturing, as high-temperature-resistant insulation in electrical devices, for insulation in the ultra-low temperature range or for applications in aircraft construction.

Kapton® films and adhesive tape for thermal management in electronics
